MIRS-MOTOROLA and PassCall Advanced Technologies Sign Full Licensing Agreement

After a short trial period, MIRS-Motorola officially selects PassCall's GateWave as its choice for Wireless Internet text application

Sunday, December 29, 1999 Tirat Hacarmel, Israel - PassCall Advanced Technologies, a leader in Wireless Internet text and voice applications, announced today the finalization of a commercial agreement to sell GateWave to MIRS Communications (www.mirs.co.il), a subsidiary of Motorola Israel and AMPAL. GateWave is a breakthrough solution which provides mobile phone users with real time Internet access, utilizing existing Internet web sites. GateWave is the first and only proven technology of its kind worldwide.

GateWave, which supports all existing telephone standards and Internet sites on a single platform, enables cell phone subscribers to receive instant web content directly to their handset displays. MIRS' mobile phone, the iDEN i1000plus, is the first Internet-ready wireless device to integrate the capabilities of a digital phone, two-way radio and alphanumeric pager. Other subscriber units offered by MIRS include the i700plus and i500plus - both offer full Internet capabilities.

As a result of this licensing agreement, MIRS (iDEN) subscribers can for the first time access Internet content from existing HTML sites in real time.

In addition, subscribers will have the option to access real Internet content based on personal preferences and requests. Utilizing text commands, the user can access a preferred web site by simply indicating a choice on the cell phone handset keys.
The GateWave application also enables users to browse and navigate the web and to customize personal preferences within the web sites. This application also has the capability to read web sites on the fly and deliver them directly to cell phones without the need to modify the site or change the existing Internet language.

The use of GateWave is consistent with MIRS' (iDEN) strategy to offer Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) enabled devices, thereby providing subscribers with value added services.

"As a result of this deal, MIRS users that until now were not able to read HTML sites clearly, can now access any Internet site that is not rewritten", said PassCall CEO Nicky Pappo. "We are pleased to provide this proven solution for MIRS (iDEN) mobile devices."
