PassCall's GateWave to be Integrated in Ericsson's
Application-to-Market (AtM) Container Project
Haifa, October 24, 2000 - PassCall Advanced Technologies, a leading provider of mobile portal platforms will integrate their GateWave open mobile portal platform in Ericsson's Application-to-Market (AtM) Container Project, part of the Ericsson Mobile Application Initiative.
PassCall's open mobile portal platform, GateWave, facilitates the delivery of personalized services to any mobile device and has full portal management capabilities. GateWave's Intelligent Transformation feature is capable of transforming - in real time - Internet content, marked up in HTML, into content marked up for display on mobile devices (WML, cHTML, HDML). GateWave provides maximum flexibility and scalability, enabling simple integration with existing content and services. GateWave is also the only fully operational and commercial solution which supports both voice and text navigation.
Ericsson's Mobile Application Initiative (MAI) and its AtM container project help application developers to work with GPRS and 3G systems through their testing and technical support systems. In a series of tests with GPRS and 3G infrastructures, GateWave received outstanding results: the response times were excellent and GateWave's platform was found to be very stable and mature.
"We are pleased that the GateWave performed so well in the GPRS field trials and was chosen by Ericsson to be included in their container trial, because it provides us with a great opportunity to demonstrate our value to leading mobile operators. It will allow the operators to test the Gatewave on GPRS and 3G infrastructures.", says Nicky Pappo, President of PassCall Advanced Technologies.
About Ericsson's MAI and AtM Container Project
The Mobile Application Initiative (MAI) was initiated by Ericsson a year ago in order to foster the development of the Mobile Internet market. It is dedicated to optimizing member companies' applications and services to function well over mobile networks, including GPRS, EDGE and 3G networks. The AtM Container Project is a complete solution for telecom operators which finds, markets, integrates, installs and supports the GPRS infrastructure. The project will have 10 MAI-tested applications running in Ericsson customers' commercial systems by the end of November 2000.
