PassCall Launches Four Installations with Leading Mobile Operators and Portals in Taiwan this Month

PassCall Penetrates Taiwan’s Mobile Internet Market with its Revolutionary Chinese Mobile Portal Platform

Taipei, January 5, 2001 – PassCall Advanced Technologies, a leading mobile portal provider, penetrates the mobile Internet market in Taiwan with its revolutionary Chinese version of GateWave, a mobile portal platform that delivers Chinese content and services to any mobile device. This month, PassCall begins a series of installations with Taiwan’s leading mobile operators and portals, to offer their subscribers added value mobile Internet content and services.

PassCall’s Chinese version of GateWave enables Chinese content to be delivered to any mobile terminal such as Internet-enabled phones, PDAs and other smart devices, without the need to modify Internet sites. With its new platform, PassCall brings the worldwide Chinese community a wide variety of mobile Internet content and services, including: news, finance, entertainment, m-commerce and more, available in most spoken languages. 

GateWave is the infrastructure for managing and supporting mobile Internet portals. It is the only fully operational and commercial solution which supports both voice and text navigation. The solution has been adopted by Cellcom, Israel’s largest mobile operator, with more than 1.8 million subscribers, as well as by Motorola MIRS. In Asia, GateWave has already been licensed to CyberPlus, a system provider for mobile commerce security solutions in the Greater China region, and has been installed by them in various locations in Asia Pacific.
