PassCall Unveils Revolutionary Mobile Portal Platform 
to Support Chinese Mobile Internet

ITU Telecom Asia 2000 - Hong Kong, December 4, 2000 - PassCall Advanced Technologies, a leading mobile portal provider, unveils a revolutionary Chinese version of GateWave that delivers Chinese content and services to any mobile device. Demonstration of the GateWave solution is available at PassCall's booth (no. 3628 at Hall 3) at the ITU Telecom Asia 2000 exhibition in Hong Kong. 

PassCall's Chinese version of the GateWave enables Chinese content to be delivered to any mobile terminal such as Internet-enabled phones, PDAs and other smart devices, without the need to modify the site. With the new platform, PassCall is bringing the worldwide Chinese community mobile Internet content and services including news, finance, entertainment, m-commerce and more in their native language. 

GateWave is the infrastructure for managing and supporting mobile Internet portals. It is the only fully operational and commercial solution which supports both voice and text navigation. The solution has been adopted by Cellcom, the largest mobile operator in Israel with more than 1.8 million subscribers, as well as Motorola MIRS. In Asia, GateWave has already been licensed to CyberPlus, a system provider for mobile commerce security solution in the Greater China region and has been installed by them in various locations in Asia Pacific.

  • Caching: GateWave's internal cache memory is optimised to avoid unnecessary Internet access, while ensuing that all information is constantly updated. 
  • Portal Manager: Provide a user-friendly tool for service providers to creating and maintaining mobile portals. It handles all portal management, such as adding, arranging and removing mobile applications and services. 
  • Traffic Analyser: Reporting features enables end-user preferences and popular website analysis.
