The Market Opportunity
By gathering the best talent across Europe, PassCall will be ideally placed to reach the leading mobile operators, ASPs and ISPs in each region and provide dedicated local services for its European customers.
Although the mobile internet market has not lived up to the high expectations of some analysts and vendors, PassCall has found the demand for its GateWave platform very encouraging.
Demand for GateWave comes from several sources. Firstly, the GateWave is the platform of choice for ISP and ASP that want to mobile enable website customers websites. Secondly, using the GateWave content providers can create additional revenue streams using the GateWave to voice enable their existing content. Thirdly, operators who currently don’t have an existing mobile portal platform but want to go mobile see GateWave as a cost effective platform that allows them to deliver innovative services exceptionally quickly. Additionally, operators who already have an existing mobile portal platform appreciate the fact that GateWave can bring additional content and services within days and in a cost-effective way.
Customers
Today, GateWave is fully operational and commercialised by service providers worldwide. In Israel, PassCall has already penetrated over 50% of the carrier market, with both Mirs, the Israeli subsidiary of Motorola, and Cellcom, Israel’s largest mobile operator with 2 million subscribers, having licensed GateWave.
PassCall has also licensed its solution to the leading and largest Israeli ASP, NetVision, who has 70% of all Israeli Internet sites stored on its servers. In Asia Pacific, PassCall has licensed GateWave to CyberPlus, a YesKey group company and system integrator operating in the Greater China area. In Taiwan and Korea, PassCall now has installations with five leading operators and portals. In Europe, PassCall is currently conducting a series of trials with leading mobile operators.
